Adobong Manok Sa Gata Recipe

















Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 5 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 piece bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon whole peppercorns
  • 1/2 kilogram chicken pieces
  • 1/8 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a large frying pan. Add garlic; cook until softened. Add bay leaf and peppercorns. Cook until aromatic.
  • Add chicken pieces and cook until slightly browned on all sides.
  • Pour soy sauce, vinegar, and water. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the vinegar's acidity is cooked off.
  • Add coconut milk.  If needed, add more water. Cook until meat is tender and the sauce has thickened. Serve while hot.

Notes

Add finger chilis (siling pangsigang) if desired and season to taste.
Swap the chicken with pork for a richer-tasting adobo
